Become a Detectorist

Is Dectectorism your Superpower?

Did you miss your calling as an explorer and anthropologist?
Fear not – we have the perfect opportunity for you to join the Detectorism Team at #dofestdudley

Detectorism is open to all – everyone has secret Detectorism skills.

What’s it all about?

We send you out into the wilds of #dofestdudley to whichever session(s) you are signed up for (or would like to take part in) in order to observe the people and processes of #dofestdudley in action!!  As a Detectorist you will use participant observation research methods to take part, watch, listen, learn, reflect, write your notes, draw your sketches, and then report back to the festival hub at the end of the session to share your findings.

We give you …

  • 15 minutes training prior to your chosen #dofestdudley activity
  • a Detectorism journal for your findings
  • oh and don’t tell anyone, but you get your own official Dectectorism badge!

If after this taster session you fancy being part of a network of Dectectorists for future events and activities you can join us to grow your Detectorism skills, and also learn more about the role of Detectorism in social innovation labs like CoLab Dudley.

Detectorism is for you if you like …

  • The idea of learning new research skills – aka developing your Dectectorism SuperPower!
  • being part of social action & shared learning in Dudley borough
  • being curious …

You Can Expect …

#learning – new research skills; insight into the special ingredients of participatory projects
#sharing – your findings and ideas to help develop our understanding around how together we can grow a participatory culture in Dudley borough
#doing – Detectorism!

Note: You can do Dectectorism AT the #dofestdudley sessions you were planning to attend. Just sign up below.
