Inspiring doers in Dudley to get growing
10 years ago Pam Warhurst and fellow doers in her home town of Todmorden initiated a “simple but radical act of growing food in public places for everyone to share”. This was the starting point for transforming every area of their town’s life. Incredible Edible is now a worldwide movement. Pam is also working on The Incredible North, using the Incredible Edible model to rethink what we mean by prosperity. Hear from Pam at the Do Fest Summit on Wednesday 15 March, 1pm-4pm at DY1.
Pam and Incredible Edible have already inspired lots of growers and doers in Dudley. The Seed & Feed growing project in the Wrens Nest Community Centre garden had Incredible Edible thinking behind it (thanks to an inspiring talk Pam gave at a FutureShift event in Birmingham in spring 2014). In 2016 we used Incredible Edible as the starting point to bring people together around growing in Dudley town centre.
In 2017 we will take this much further. Come and listen to Pam to get a taste of what’s possible.
